Sri Santanu Ghosh (88EE) -- Rs.2,500/-
Sri Somnath Ghosh (CE88) -- Rs.4,000/-
Adhip (CE90) -- Rs.1,000/-
The total amount received by Sujit till date is Rs. 2,91,585/=
Suhas has collected US$1,100 from US and has sent it already to Kolkata. Once that is collected, I will then take that into account.
Improvement of Sujit's condition is very very slow. Till today, RBC is not being produced in his bone-marrow. Financially also, the condition is detoriorating. I am enclosing two mails of Sujit's brother which is self-explanatory.
Manojit'da, Sujit's elder brother wrote on 15th June'04:
".........Sujit's office has sanctioned only
Rs.2,51,000 only out of one time advance given Rs.4.00 lacs as per
Government rules, though his office association is appealing again for
considering his case as special case. I don't know, what will be the
untimate fate. As per sanctioned amount, balance amount will have to be
refunded to the office. Day day day fund position is becoming critical. If
possible, make an appeal to other ex-students for Sujit. Regarding
sanctioned amount from office, do not inform anything to Sujit at present.........."
Manojit'da mailed on 5th July'04 :
"Yesterday I have come back from Vellore. I talked to Doctors regarding
Sujit. Till today no Red Blood Cell in Sujit's body is producting.
Doctors told us that such problems arises in case of 30% cases. We have to
keep patience and he will have to stay at Vellore now, as from time to time
Irridated Packcell Blood is transfused 15 days (approx) interval. Moreover,
Last Monday, one operation was done on his right leg for which Sujit was
againt admitted to CMC Hospital for 3 days . His present Blood Parameter is
HBC-6.8, WBC-5900, Platelate-216000 and Sugar-300. Sujit has told to Rajib
to contact over Mobile (0416-3116968 of Vellore) as there is no contacting
number with him or contact with Debasis Chowdhuri (Mobile No.98114-13650,

The total amount received by Sujit till date is Rs. 2,00,085/=
Sujit called up this weekend. He is bit better now. I found him confident about his health, though Hb count is still a matter of concern. Doctors had given an option to Sujit to speed up this recovery process. One injection, they are suggesting, may help to regulate this Hb fluctuation faster. It may work but chance of success is not cent percent. Cost is around one and half lac of Rs. Sujit seems to be in two minds about going for this option.

Fund Transfer Options
Amit Updates on Fund Transfer Options - March 8, 2004
Tapas Chakraborty & Rajdeep have found out a better & faster way of transferring money to Sujit in India. It is money transfer through Western Union. Though, they have got an outlet near Sujit's place at Andul-Mouri Post Office, it is yet to be functional. So, the nearest outlet is Howrah GPO. It appears that for Dipika, Sujit's wife it will be difficult to collect money from there. The problem is she has a few months' old baby to take care and to leave her for even couple of hours will be difficult for her.
So, may I suggest that we nominate Mr. Manojit Ghosh, Sujit's elder brother who is taking care of the funds and all, be the collector at the receiving end. The Howrah GPO being nearer to his working place, it will be convenient for them to work that way. This is my proposal and you please feel free to give your opinion in this regard. Otherwise, for such money transfer, by default Sujit's wife can be the collector with following details :
Collector : Ms. Dipika Ghosh
Voter's ID Card No. HXF2271021
Within 24 hours probably, the recipient can collect the money from the Western Union branch at Howrah or any other branch, convenient to him/her by producing Voter ID Card & transaction details which you have to send. Otherwise, you can also send an A/c. Payee cheque or Demand Draft, drawn in the name of "Sujit Ghosh", payable at Indian Bank, Howrah branch and may be sent to Sujit's residence at:
Sujit Ghosh
Andul Station Road,
P.O. : Jhorehat,
Opposite UCO Bank Old Building,
Howrah - 711 302
West Bengal, India
Bank detail:
Indian Bank
Howrah Branch
SB A/c. No.

Donation from Oman
Amit Chaudhuri, achaudhuri@vsnl.net, updates on March 5, 2004 on Sujit and Funds
Tapas & Jhumpa (Oman)
I was on leave yesterday, so I could not communicate with you earlier. Today, I got the information from Rajdeep that you have already sent the money. I called up Sujit's brother this morning and told to collect the money by Sujit's wife and to confirm me back. I donot know, if he can arrange it today. Otherwise, tomorrow being "Holi"day & next Sunday, they might not get it before Monday.
I donot know how to thank both of you for your nice gesture towards this cause. Your effort will certainly force others to respond positively. Also, your idea to transfer money through Western Union for speedy and hasslefree delivery is probably the best and I will be recommending this to others to follow.
Sujit's condition has been detoriorated a bit today. Haemoglobin count has dropped down to 6.4 from 7.5. This is a big concern and probably, he has to be given blood again. Other parameters being stabilized, this Hb count is the main matter of worry now.
On March 3rd 2004, Rajdeep Dutta, 88EE Updates from Oman
On behalf of Tapas Chakraborty (93 Arch) I am very pleased to inform you that he has trasferred Rs. 15,000/- from Muscat to India by Western Union. The details are as under:

Sender: Mrs. Jhumpa Chakraborty (w/o Tapas)

However, in Andul the nearest Western Union outlet is located on Andul - Mouri Road, near the Post Office. Telephone No. 335-4842.
Amit & Rajib,

Medical History & Status
Details of Sujit’s(Group B+) ailment as of March 2nd 2004
Indrajit Ray, 88CST researched Sujit condition and sent a list of questions and requested Sujit's family to discuss
with Sujit's Doctors. Amit (88ETC) contacted Sujit's Brother and received the following information.
Jaundice was noted in the month of June,2003
From June to last week of September, Sujit was on leave for his treatment.
During jaundice period bilurubin was controlled but SGPT was always on the higher side
Gum bleeding and low temperature was noted from 9.10.2003
Sujit was admitted into Woodland hospital, Kolkata on 13.10.2003.
After blood test, all blood countings became very low, i.e. WBC-1200, Platelate-15000-25000, Himoglobine-400-600, HIV 1,2 (Negative), P.F. Antigen Negative from time to time. From 13.10.2003 to 22.10.2003 12 bottles (350 mg each) fresh blood and 12 platelates (350 mg) was infused. But no remarkable development was found.
Woodland hospital’s diagnosis was Hypoplastic Anemia and suggested for Bone Marrow Transplantation.
We moved to Mumbai Jaslok Hospital under Dr. S.H. Advani on 22.10.2003.
HLA matching was done at Jaslok. But due to non-availability of BMT plant at Jaslok at that moment, they advised us either wait 1 month or move anywhere, where BMT plant will be available.
We moved Christian Medical College, Vellore on 2.11.2003 after getting confirmation regarding BMT Plant and admitted Sujit there.
Bone Marrow Transplantation was done on 17.11.2003 & 18.11.2003 from his own elder brother (age 43 years, Group A+).
After transplantation, counting was started after 12 days. Vomiting, Loose motion and harpiece was found. Sujit released from indoor hospital CMC on 16.12.2003. Since then WBC and Platelate was always within normal range though fluctuate from time to time. But Hemoglobin is always below normal range fluctuating from 450 to 850. Further 5 bottles of blood was infused from time to time during last 1 and ½ month. Present blood report WBC 4100, Platelate 141000, Hemoglobine-740, Blood Sugar-252.
Present medicine : Cyclosphorine (100 mg)- 2 tablets
Glynese (50 mg)- 3 tablets,
Pentid (400 mg)- 2 tablets,
Folic Acid (2.5)-1 tablet,
Wymox-20---------1 tablet,
Sepmax (960 mg)-4 tab/week;
From 16.12.2003 to till day (28.2.2004), Sujit is staying locally at Vellore with normal food, specially cooked food. Doctors are telling that after stabilizing Hemoglobine, he will be released.
Regarding drinking water : All of our family members always take deep tube well (700 ft. approx.). During jaundice period, Sujit always would drink boiled water. Now he is drinking Packed Mineral water. In our residential area, no arsenic was found till now. The tubewell is 22 years old.
Postal address: As give below
If any other information is required, I will give the same at the earliest.
With best wishes,
Yours beloved elder brother
