It's really a great news . We were the first student(2002 Entrance) when we sat at main gate of BE COLLEGE for protesting against WB government , for upgradation of BE college to INI . That was our dreams and now dreem comes true .

It has been a marathon indeed. I have been following the developments very keenly since 2006. I still remember the day when members of the Anadakrishnan committee first came to visit BESU. We were practicing at the Oval and saw a series of cars enter Pandya. They gave BESU the best rating among the chosen institutes; even higher than IT-BHU. But today IT-BHU has become an IIT and BESU is still in search for that elusive IIEST tag.
Just hope that all this hard work bears fruit some day soon.

It is a great news that some progress has taken place. Now it is time to improve internal academic qualities of the institute. For this, teachers need to become more upto date about research activities and open minded towards students.

The process of BESU upgradation to IIEST, is probably completing a full circle shortly. We are intensely waiting to see the final news hitting the National media. Prof Ajay Ray, has proved the old age adage "if there is a will there is a way!". We are proud of his achievement! Prof Ray should take appropriate steps to "market" BESU to the outer world! IITs, JU etc are in this business for quite some time. Let the new IIEST take BESU in setting a new benchmark of Engg education in our country.

Great achievement for BESU. History will remember Prof. Ajay Roy, VC,BESU for his great efforts which have cruised BESU up to this enviable stage. In Oct'2010 the in principal approval was accorded by Union Cabinet, now in Dec'2012 the Amendment Bill itself has been approved by the Union Cabinet.

I find that the same kind of approval was announced two years back in 2010 also. Why same approval again ? Is it just to keep this process pending for years after years? May be 150 years old BESU with great contribution to our country will require another 100 years to get its due recognition. In the mean time all kinds of substandard engineering colleges / institutes / universities will be rated above BESU for their political patronage or money power. It is really shocking.
